Lupin (Lupinus) ‘Red’, 1 Litre Pot

£4.99

Produces densely packed spires of red, pea-like flowers in June and July above clumps of attractively lobed, mid-green leaves.  Perfect towards the front of a sunny cottage garden border, as long as the faded blooms are removed promptly the plant will yield a second flush of flowers in September.

This perennial dies back to below ground level each year in autumn, then fresh new growth appears again in spring.

  • Position: full sun or partial shade
  • Soil: moderately fertile, well-drained, slightly acid, sandy soil
  • Rate of growth: fast-growing
  • Flowering period: June to July and September
  • Hardiness: fully hardy
  • Garden care: Deadhead the faded blooms to encourage a second flush of flowers. In autumn cover the crown of the plant to protect against frost damage.
  • Harmful if eaten
