Buxus Sempervirens (Common Box Hedge) Rootballed 50-60cm

£11.70

Common box is a slow-growing, evergreen tree, with dark green oval leaves which are thick and waxy.

Mature trees can grow to a height of 12m, but most gardeners trim them into a neat hedge.  They have a compact habit, with smooth grey bark which fissures with age, and green, downy stems.

These plants are 50-60cm tall, measured from the top of the rootball, so approximately knee/thigh tall.

Plant at 2 or 3 plants per metre, depending on preference.  They will knit together quickly in the growing season.

Planting

The plants should be planted and thoroughly watered as soon as possible after delivery, to avoid drying out.  Rootballed plants should be planted with the hessian sack still in place (the hessian will rot away in the ground).  Do not remove this hessian sack.

Feeding & Aftercare

We recommend to plant with Westland Bone Meal (which acts as a root stimulant) and 6X Fertiliser (a long acting fertiliser).  The plants should also be fed from Springtime onwards with buxus feed.
